 FAQ

  • An osteopath is a manual therapist that supports the body’s natural healing ability. Osteopaths use a holistic approach to consultations, utilising various assessment, diagnostic and treatment techniques that are personalised to the individual.

Osteopaths treat with the idea that the body functions in an integrated manner; if one part is restricted, others will compensate. By targeting and treating all areas in the body that are under stress, an osteopath can encourage a patient’s body to use its own self-healing ability to recover, regain function and prevent further episodes.

  • Your osteopath will take a complete medical history, assessment, and examination during your first consultation. The osteopath will then discuss a provisional diagnosis and provide individualised hands-on treatment. The osteopath may recommend stretches, postural advice or lifestyle suggestions to aid recovery and prevent a recurrence.

  • An initial consultation is approximately 45 minutes.

    Follow-up consultations are approximately 30 minutes – 45 minutes.
